The same $10,000, four ways, thirteen places.

Someone with $100,000 of taxable income receives another $10,000. What they keep depends on what kind of income it is and which province they file in — from $9,837 in British Columbia down to $7,933 in Newfoundland and Labrador, on eligible dividends alone.

The widest gap between income types is in New Brunswick, where taking it as eligible dividends rather than as salary or interest is worth $2,694 on $10,000.

What this is
Marginal rates applied to a marginal amount. It answers "the next $10,000 I receive, what do I keep" for someone already at $100,000 of taxable income.
What this is not
Not a tax return. It ignores the basic personal amount and every other credit, assumes the whole $10,000 stays within one bracket, and takes no account of the OAS recovery tax or any other income-tested benefit. A full calculation at a lower income would differ substantially, because credits matter most there.
The catch above these numbers
The dividend advantage shown here is real, and it reverses for some retirees. Net income counts the grossed-up dividend, so eligible dividends reach the OAS threshold on roughly 28% less cash than ordinary income does. Why that happens.
